Jawbox Gin Unveils the World’s Largest Bottle of Gin

Jawbox Gin is set to unveil the world’s largest bottle of gin as the hospitality industry reopens for business. 

At 32 Litres and standing at 73cm tall, the ‘Jawbox Giant’s Edition’ bottle is a huge version of the brand’s Export Strength gin with an ABV of 47%. It holds almost 46 standard bottles of gin.

The name and inspiration comes from Jonathan Swift’s well-known tale, Gulliver's Travels, in which the writer was said to have been inspired by the sight of the Belfast Hills, which he felt resembled a sleeping giant safeguarding the city. The same hills where Black Mountain heather is gathered to make Jawbox Gin.

The one-of-a-kind bottle will be showcased in the cocktail bar of luxury 5 star hotel The Grand Central in Belfast, the city that is the home of Jawbox Gin.

A delectable G & Tea has been created at the hotel to celebrate the occasion with a selection of delicate sandwiches, scones and sweet treats inspired by the botanicals and flavours of Jawbox Gin. Guests can also sit back, relax and take in the stunning views overlooking the Belfast Hills and beyond whilst enjoying the new Jonathan’s Twist Cocktail, served using the gin from this giant bottle.

The initiative is supported by Tourism Northern Ireland and their ‘Embrace a Giant Spirit’ campaign which has been a focal point for the activity.

The higher strength liquid is a more intense expression of Jawbox Small Batch Gin and is perfect for cocktails. We really wanted to create some theatre around the bottle and this huge edition with a sleek matt black finish and gold foil accented label certainly does that.” 

The Jawbox Giant’s Edition will be on display from this month at the Observatory Bar in The Grand Central hotel, Belfast.

About Jawbox Small Batch Gin 

Jawbox is an award-winning gin having received numerous accolades including ‘Best Gin in the UK’ and recently gold and silver medals at the London Spirits Competition 2021.

The Jawbox Distillery is located on a 300-acre 16th-century estate where the grain for the spirit is grown and harvested.  Jawbox Small Batch Gin is triple-distilled very slowly in traditional copper pot stills and in small batches using a unique combination of 11 carefully selected botanicals, eight of the eleven botanicals are ‘steep and boil’.
