Yeni Rak?? Ala is a premium Turkish spirit renowned for its extended aging and complexity, representing the pinnacle of the Raki tradition. Distilled exclusively from selected Anatolian grapes and highly concentrated aniseed, it undergoes double distillation before being matured for a minimum of 120 days in oak barrels. This extensive oak contact distinguishes Ala from standard Rakis, imparting a subtle golden hue and a smoother, rounder mouthfeel. The resulting flavor profile offers rich notes of licorice, fennel, and pine, balanced by a sophisticated depth derived from the wood aging. When water is added, it produces the characteristic "lion's milk" louche. It is traditionally consumed chilled with water and ice, often alongside mezes (appetizers).
