Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is a rare, limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky born from a disruptive experiment at the distillery: the legendary purifier on the still was removed. This crucial component is normally responsible for Ardbeg's signature balance. The absence of the purifier results in an ominous dram where the familiar harmony between peat and floral fruitiness is broken. Instead, the untamed, darker flavors and notes of the spirit have risen, filling the senses. This non-chill filtered whisky is bottled at 46% ABV, having been matured in ex-bourbon casks.
