Auchentoshan Blood Oak whisky is an interesting addition to the triple distilled range, offering a unique flavour profile. The whiskey has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-red wine casks, which gives it a rich, fruity taste with notes of black cherry, currants, and chocolate. The name "Blood Oak" comes from the fact that some of the casks used for maturation have been made from oak trees that were planted in the grounds of the distillery to commemorate those who died in World War I. This is a complex and fascinating whisky that is well worth exploring.
