The Pooka No1 Blend Poitin revives Ireland's most ancient distilled spirit, crafted with a knowledgeable modern approach. This expression is a meticulous blend of wheat and malted barley spirits, distilled with precision to achieve a clean and smooth character, intentionally removing the harsher elements historically associated with Poitin. After distillation, the spirit is rested briefly in wood for ten weeks. This maturation period is expertly managed to soften the spirit without dominating the base flavors. The resulting clear spirit is bottled at 43% ABV, offering a lighter, versatile profile than whiskey. It is perfect for sipping neat or with a drop of water, and its refined flavor makes it an excellent, lighter base for sophisticated cocktails.
