Unicum is Hungary's revered national liqueur, a complex and intensely herbal digestif produced by the Zwack family for over 200 years. This distinctive spirit is crafted from a secret blend of more than forty different herbs and spices, some of which are distilled, while others are macerated. It is then aged for six months in large oak barrels before bottling. The result is a dark, smooth, and full-bodied spirit characterized by a bittersweet profile. The nose offers profound aromas of medicinal herbs, root vegetables, and a hint of mint. On the palate, the bitterness is beautifully balanced by a slight sweetness, offering layers of spice, licorice, and wood smoke.
