Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky is a distinctive Japanese grain whisky produced primarily from corn using a traditional "Coffey" continuous column still, imported from Scotland in 1963. This method, while labor-intensive, results in a rich, oily, and exceptionally flavorful spirit. This non-age-statement expression presents an inviting nose of sweet butterscotch, vanilla, and hints of tropical fruit. The palate is characterized by its velvety texture and layers of sweet cereal notes, cr??me br??l??e, and gentle spice. The use of the Coffey still retains more character from the raw ingredients compared to modern column stills, giving it a profound depth and complexity rare in grain whiskies. It finishes long, smooth, and sweet, making it an excellent sipper neat or a unique base for high-end cocktails.
