Akashi Red Blended Whisky is a light, approachable Japanese whisky produced by the White Oak Distillery, which holds the distinction of being the first distillery in Japan to receive a whisky-making license in 1919. This expression is crafted from a blend of malt and grain whiskies, with a higher malt content than many blends, and is aged primarily in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in shochu casks. It presents a smooth and gentle profile, with inviting notes of honey, cereal, and vanilla. The palate is clean and slightly sweet, offering flavors of dried fruit, nuts, and a subtle spice.
