Arran Signature Series 2, titled "Barrel Bonfire," is the second limited installment exploring the Island distillery's more heavily peated style, featuring a substantial peat level of 42ppm. This unique single malt matured for over five years in bourbon barrels before being transferred to custom Koval quarter casks from Chicago. This finishing process enhances the intense layers of peat, resulting in a bold and complex profile. On the nose, expect notes of smoked candied nuts, praline, rich vanilla, and drying bonfire embers. The palate is oily and smooth, delivering silky vanilla, warming cinnamon, and flamed citrus, balanced by rich, sooty smoke. Bottled at 50% Vol, non-chill filtered, and with no added coloring, it offers a sophisticated, intense experience for the discerning whisky enthusiast.
