Connacht Single Malt Batch 1 Whiskey marks a historic moment as the first whiskey distilled in County Mayo in over 150 years. This exceptional Irish spirit is crafted from 100% malted Irish barley and distilled in custom copper pot stills by the Atlantic.
The whiskey is aged for a minimum of four years, utilizing a dual-cask maturation process in both ex-bourbon oak barrels and rich Oloroso sherry barrels. This careful aging imbues the spirit with complexity and depth. Bottled at a robust 94 proof, it offers a full-bodied character with notes likely reflecting the influence of the sherry and bourbon casks. This debut batch is a bold, flavorful expression that pays homage to traditional Irish distilling while establishing Connacht's distinctive regional style.
