Finlaggan Red Wine Cask Matured Whisky is a distinctive single malt expression from Islay, known for its bold character and the influence of its unique finishing process. After initial maturation in traditional oak casks, this non-age statement whisky is finished in select red wine barrels, which imparts a layer of fruity complexity to the classic Islay profile. The nose is greeted with the unmistakable intensity of peat smoke and sea spray, complemented by rich notes of red berries, dark cherry, and a hint of spice from the wine casks. The palate offers a beautiful marriage of sweet, smoky, and tannic flavors, culminating in a long, warming finish that balances the medicinal peat with the lingering sweetness of red wine. This whisky is bottled non-chill filtered to preserve its full, robust character.
