Glendalough Double Barrel Irish Whiskey is an exceptionally smooth and versatile single grain expression, initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for three years. It then undergoes a finishing period of up to six months in deeply charred Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. This dual maturation process imparts a unique complexity and rich, layered flavor profile.
The result is a light, approachable whiskey that balances the creamy sweetness of vanilla and butterscotch from the bourbon wood with the dried fruit, spice, and dark chocolate notes from the sherry casks. Bottled at 42% ABV, it maintains a gentle texture and warm finish, making it an excellent bridge for those new to Irish whiskey while still offering depth for the connoisseur. It is ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation for a refined Irish coffee or cocktail.
