Hinch 5 Years Double Wood Irish Whiskey is an exceptionally smooth single malt, crafted in County Down, Northern Ireland. This expression gains its distinctive character from a unique dual maturation process. It is initially aged for a minimum of five years in bourbon barrels, which imparts notes of vanilla, caramel, and a subtle sweetness. The whiskey is then finished in new, heavily charred American oak casks, contributing a layer of robust spice, toasted wood, and depth.
The result is a beautifully balanced and complex spirit. On the nose, you'll find aromas of orchard fruit, creamy toffee, and cinnamon. The palate offers a rich texture with flavors of honey, baked apples, and a warming peppery finish. This sophisticated whiskey is excellent enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a flavorful base in a high-end cocktail like an Old Fashioned.
