Nikka Yoichi Discovery Aromatic Yeast 2022 is a highly anticipated limited-edition single malt from Japan???s iconic Yoichi Distillery, forming part of the innovative Discovery Series. This expression highlights the impact of specific yeast strains on the final character of the whisky. Distilled in 2022, it showcases a remarkable balance between Yoichi???s signature herbal peat smoke and a surprisingly fruity profile. The nose is complex, opening with coastal notes of sea salt and earthy peat, quickly followed by bright, aromatic scents of apple, pear, melon, and tropical pineapple. The palate develops with green herbs, coconut cream, and sweet summer flowers. This single malt is bottled at a natural strength, offering exceptional depth and complexity with a long, satisfying finish of ripe barley and plums.
