Lillet Rouge

Lillet Rouge is a distinguished French aperitif wine, skillfully crafted near Bordeaux using a blend of Bordeaux wines and fruit liqueurs. Unlike its Blanc counterpart, the Rouge version is characterized by a richer, more robust flavor profile, achieved through extended maceration and aging. It features a deep garnet color and offers complex notes of ripe dark fruits, such as black cherry and blackberry, harmoniously balanced with hints of sweet orange, vanilla, and fine spices like cinnamon. Aged in oak barrels, it develops a velvety texture and a lingering, bittersweet finish. Traditionally enjoyed chilled, Lillet Rouge is also the crucial ingredient in a classic Vesper Martini (when substituting for vermouth) or simply served over ice with an orange slice.
