The Balvenie 12 Years DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky is renowned for its unique maturation process. It is first aged for 12 years in traditional oak whisky casks, then moved for an additional nine months into European oak Oloroso sherry casks. This dual aging, or 'DoubleWood' process, increases the complexity and brings fruity, honeyed depths to the spirit. The nose presents sweet fruit and Oloroso sherry notes, layered beautifully with honey and vanilla. The taste is smooth and mellow, featuring nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiciness, and a delicately proportioned layer of sherry. It finishes long and warming, making it excellent enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with a splash of water to fully expand the flavor profile.
