Cardhu 12 Year Old is a classic Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, revered for its elegant, sweet, and well-balanced character. It originates from one of the oldest distilleries in the region, established by Helen Cumming in the early 19th century. This expression is matured in a combination of refill and rejuvenated oak barrels, which allows the distillery's signature spirit characteristics to shine. It presents inviting aromas of golden honey, soft baked apple, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and approachable, offering flavors of sweet toffee, malt, and a light garden fruitiness, culminating in a dry, warming finish with a whisper of smoke. This versatile and engaging dram is an excellent introduction to Speyside malts and is best enjoyed neat, with a splash of water, or as the foundation for a premium Highball.
