Kilbeggan Black Whiskey is a distinctive expression from Ireland's oldest continuous distillery, notable for its rich, yet approachable character. This whiskey is traditionally double-distilled and matured in ex-bourbon casks, setting the stage for its complex profile. A key feature is the delicate introduction of light peat, which provides a subtle smoky finish, adding depth without overpowering the spirit.
On the palate, Kilbeggan Black offers a comforting blend of mellow sweetness, hints of spice, and the distinct note of peat smoke. Bottled at 40% ABV, it provides a well-balanced and warm experience. This unique double-distillation and light peating make it a welcome addition for those who appreciate a nuanced Irish whiskey with an intriguing smoky dimension.
