Zacapa XO is a masterpiece of Guatemalan rum, aged through a complex Solera system at high altitude in the mountains. This exceptional aging process imparts remarkable depth and complexity. The rum is a blend of aged rums between 6 and 25 years old, with a final maturation period in French oak barrels that previously held Cognac. This finishing step introduces sophisticated notes of sweet spice and fruit. The nose is rich with aromas of marzipan, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts. On the palate, Zacapa XO offers a layered experience of caramelized fruit, vanilla, dark cherry, and a hint of ginger. Its finish is long, warm, and wonderfully smooth, making it an ideal luxury spirit for neat sipping.
