Arran Signature Series Vol. 3: Duero Discovery is an exceptional 12-year-old Island single malt, bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered, and featuring no added coloring. This release highlights the influence of premium red wine casks on Arran’s distinct spirit. Initially aged in bourbon barrels, this whisky spent a further six years finishing in first-fill Spanish red wine casks from the Duero River region. This dual maturation results in a complex, full-bodied dram. The palate is oak-forward with rich dark red berries, creamy vanilla, and hints of sweet candy. Expect inviting aromas of caramelized fruit, salted caramel, and zesty grapefruit rind, leading to a long, mouthwatering finish of vanilla and toasted oak.
