Bollinger La Grande Année Magnum is the house’s prestige vintage Champagne, exclusively produced when the harvest is of exceptional quality. This Brut expression is crafted primarily from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourced from 95% to 100% Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. Crucially, the wine is entirely fermented in small, aged oak barrels, which is rare for Champagne, avoiding oxidation and imparting structure and complexity. Second fermentation takes place under natural cork closure, not crown cap, allowing for maximum flavor preservation during its extended cellar aging in the bottle—always aged significantly longer than the appellation requires. La Grande Année is characterized by rich, layered aromas of brioche, toasted nuts, and honey, balanced by a powerful yet elegant freshness. Its magnum format ensures a slower, superior maturation, resulting in a deeper complexity and enhanced longevity.
