Bommerlunder is a distinguished German herbal liqueur, or Aquavit, with a rich heritage dating back over two centuries. This classic spirit is meticulously crafted with a complex blend of botanicals, most notably caraway, which imparts a smooth and aromatic flavor profile. Following distillation, Bommerlunder rests for six months in old, selected oak barrels, a crucial step that contributes to its renowned smoothness and depth of flavor. This careful aging process ensures a balanced taste featuring a light caraway note and a subtle anise accent. Bottled at 38% ABV, Bommerlunder is traditionally enjoyed neat and chilled as a sophisticated digestif, or as a versatile ingredient in elevated cocktails like a Hot Toddy.
