Boulard XO Calvados is a superb expression from the Pays d'Auge region, created from a blend of Calvados varieties aged between 8 and 15 years, resulting in a brilliant golden amber spirit. This exceptional aging process imparts a complex and layered profile, showcasing the finest attributes of apple brandy. The nose is greeted by sweet aromas of fresh pink lady apples, accented by notes of vanilla, rich leather, and subtle red fruit. On the palate, a delightful balance of sweetness and spice emerges, with toasted almond, dusty nutmeg, ginger, black pepper, and cassia bark playing harmoniously. The finish is long and satisfying, refreshed by a fleeting hint of lemon peel astringency. This versatile XO is excellent enjoyed neat to appreciate its complexity, or as a sophisticated base in classic cocktails.
