Caol Ila Distillers Edition 2022 is a sublime expression of Islay single malt, celebrated for harmonizing the distillery's intense coastal peat smoke with rich sweetness from secondary maturation. Distilled on the rugged Isle of Islay, this edition undergoes a finishing period in hand-selected Moscatel-wine casks. This process layers the classic medicinal smoke and maritime salinity with deep, luscious notes of dark fruit, fig, and honey.
Bottled at a higher proof to maintain its full character, the result is a beautifully complex and oily mouthfeel. Expect a rich palate where sweet, spicy grape notes emerge before yielding to a long, warming finish dominated by wood smoke and brine.
