Cù Bòcan Creation #6 is an intriguing single malt Scotch whisky from the Tomatin Distillery, representing the sixth edition in their innovative Creation series. This expression challenges tradition by marrying lightly peated spirit, unique to the Cù Bòcan brand, with a highly unusual combination of maturation casks. After initial aging, Creation #6 is finished in ex-beer barrels, specifically those that held Imperial Stout, before a final finish in highly active Jamaican Rum casks.
This triple-cask approach results in an extraordinarily complex flavor profile. Expect layers of smoky peat to intertwine with tropical notes of pineapple, banana, and citrus from the rum, all balanced by a rich, malty darkness imparted by the stout beer casks. This non-chill filtered whisky is a bold, modern take on Highland peated malt, perfect for the adventurous connoisseur.
