The Domaine Jean-Noel Gagnard Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2021 is a superb expression of white Burgundy from one of its most revered sites. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grown in well-draining clay-silt-limestone soils, this Grand Cru embodies power and elegance. Following careful sorting and pressing, the wine undergoes both primary and malolactic fermentation in barrel using ambient yeast. It is then meticulously aged for 18 months on the lees in barrels, approximately 80% new. This process imparts incredible depth, complexity, and texture, promising rich aromas of toasted nuts, white flowers, and citrus, supported by a profound mineral core and a very long finish. This is a wine built for long cellar aging.
