Don Q Double Wood Sherry Cask Finish Rum is a sophisticated expression from Destilería Serrallés in Ponce, Puerto Rico, makers of Don Q. This rum is unique due to its meticulous double aging process. It is initially aged in American white oak barrels for a minimum of five years, imparting classic notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. Following this primary maturation, the rum is finished for a period in genuine Oloroso sherry casks imported from Spain. This secondary aging enhances the spirit's complexity, introducing rich layers of dried fruit, nuts, and baking spice, beautifully balanced by the tropical warmth of the Puerto Rican rum. Bottled at 40% ABV, it offers a velvety mouthfeel and a long, warm finish, making it an excellent choice for sipping neat or crafting premium cocktails.
