Hyogo 135 East Gin is a unique Japanese gin that bridges traditional London Dry style with distinctive Eastern botanicals. Crafted by the Kaikyo Distillery in Hyogo, Japan, it takes its name from the 135th meridian east, which runs through Akashi City where the distillery is located. This spirit is a blend of traditional botanicals like juniper, coriander, and angelica root, complemented by local Japanese ingredients such as sencha green tea, shiso leaf, and yuzu peel.
The result is a complex, balanced flavor profile that is simultaneously crisp and aromatic. Expect bright citrus notes from the yuzu, a fresh earthiness from the shiso, and a subtle, satisfying texture from the tea. It is a modern expression of gin that honors both European and Japanese distillation artistry.
