Koch El Mexicano Mezcal is an authentic, artisanal expression of the Oaxacan mezcal tradition, crafted in small batches by maestro mezcaleros. This spirit is distilled from 100% Espad??n agave, which is slow-roasted in underground conical stone ovens using black volcanic rock. This crucial step imparts the distinct, deep smoky flavor characteristic of high-quality mezcal. Following the roast, the agave is milled using a stone wheel (tahona) and naturally fermented before being double-distilled in copper pot stills. The resulting spirit offers a complex profile, balancing the initial robust smoke with vibrant notes of citrus, green herbs, and a lingering minerality. It's an excellent choice for savoring neat to appreciate its craft, or as the foundation of an elevated cocktail.
