Penfolds Grange 2012 is a monumental expression, arguably Australia's most celebrated wine and a Heritage Icon of South Australia. True to Penfolds' multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy, this vintage is predominantly Shiraz (98%) with a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from prestigious regions like the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. It spent 18 months maturing in 100% new American oak hogsheads, which contributes to its compelling depth and structure. The wine presents as fresh yet voluminous on the palate, offering complex layers of red liquorice, black olive tapenade, and dark cherry fruit flavors complemented by notes of chai tea, sandalwood, and tobacco. Powerful and exquisitely polished, the 2012 Grange is destined for long-term cellaring, with a peak drinking window extending past 2040.
