Planteray Original Dark Rum (formerly Plantation Original Dark) is a masterful blend of rums from Barbados and Jamaica, matured first in the tropics in bourbon barrels, then aged again in French oak casks in France. This dual-aging process, known as "double aging," imbues the spirit with exceptional complexity. It presents a deep amber color and a rich, concentrated profile. Expect inviting notes of banana, brown sugar, vanilla, and hints of tropical fruit, balanced by cocoa and subtle wood spice. The Jamaican rum component provides a distinctive high-ester richness, making it robust enough for complex cocktails like the Mai Tai or Hurricane, while its smoothness also allows it to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
