Quiquiriqui Pechuga Con Café Mezcal is a highly unique and exceptional spirit that masterfully combines traditional mezcal production with an innovative coffee infusion. Crafted in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, this expression begins with certified organic agave Espadín, cooked in an earthen oven and mashed by tahona. The initial distillation follows traditional methods.
During a secondary distillation, the vapor passes through a 'pechuga' basket containing a raw chicken breast (a common practice to balance flavors) alongside specially selected coffee beans. This process imparts a subtle, deep roast character and complex bitterness that balances the smoky agave, alongside notes of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and warm earth. Bottled at 48% ABV, this mezcal offers a profound depth, ideal for sipping neat to appreciate its layers, or as a sophisticated base in complex cocktails.
