This expression starts with the finest cane sugar and high-quality water, which are mixed with yeast before distillation. It is then matured for a full ten years in former bourbon barrels, imparting a rich, complex profile. This aging process results in a rum with depth, featuring layers of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak from the barrel influence, beautifully complementing the underlying sweetness of the cane. Bottled by hand in Hamburg, Ron Piet 10 Years offers a remarkably smooth and nuanced flavor, making it an excellent choice for sipping neat or enjoying in an elevated classic cocktail.
