Specht Kirschwasser is a pristine German fruit brandy, a traditional eau-de-vie distilled exclusively from fermented sour cherries, including their pits, which impart a subtle almond note. Unlike liqueurs, genuine Kirschwasser is colorless and dry, containing no added sugar or flavoring, allowing the pure essence of the cherry to shine through. Distilled in copper pot stills, this clear spirit captures the aromatic intensity of ripe cherries, presenting a complex profile of delicate fruit, faint spice, and a clean, warming finish. Specht maintains a high standard of purity, making it an excellent digestive, or a key ingredient in classic cocktails like the Rose. It is also essential for authentic Black Forest Gateau (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte).
