St. Raphael Le Quina Ambre is a classic French *vin doux naturel* aperitif, first created in 1830 by Dr. Juppet. It is crafted from a blend of mistelles (unfermented grape juice fortified with alcohol) sourced from the finest French appellations, including those of the great wine regions. Its distinctive character comes from a precise infusion of quinine (the *quina*), bitter orange peel, and other aromatic spices. The 'Ambre' designation denotes its richer, more amber hue and flavor profile compared to the lighter golden 'Dor' expression. Expect a harmonious balance of sweetness and bitterness, with notes of dark fruit, rich caramel, and subtle herbal complexity from the quinine.
