Vago Elote Mezcal is a unique and sought-after expression from Oaxaca, Mexico, handcrafted by Mezcalero Aquilino García López. It is distinguished by a rare process where the finished Espadín mezcal is steeped with roasted corn kernels (elote) from the family's farm before a final distillation.
This secondary distillation with corn imparts a remarkable complexity. On the palate, the mezcal maintains its earthy, smoky agave character, but layers it with rich, deep notes of sweet roasted corn, creamy vanilla, and subtle black tea. The result is an exceptionally smooth, well-rounded spirit with a savory finish that appeals to both mezcal purists and adventurous drinkers. It is bottled at a higher proof to preserve its full flavor.
