Waterford Ballykilchavan 1.2 is a distinctive single malt Irish whiskey that embodies the distillery's commitment to terroir. This expression, distilled from 100% Irish barley grown on the specific Ballykilchavan farm, showcases the profound influence of origin on flavor.
As a non-age-statement release, it offers a vibrant and complex profile, often displaying notes of green apple, baked citrus, malted biscuits, and a subtle salinity reflecting the coastal climate. Matured primarily in a mix of first-fill U.S. oak, virgin oak, and French wine casks, this whiskey is non-chill filtered and bottled at high strength to preserve its full, authentic character. It is a pure, transparent statement of modern Irish whiskey innovation.
