Yeni Raki is the world???s most popular brand of Raki, the iconic national spirit of Turkey. This unsweetened, anise-flavored alcoholic beverage is traditionally distilled from grapes (sometimes with the addition of figs or other fruits) and flavored with high-quality aniseed. It is renowned for its smooth, assertive flavor and its cultural importance. When mixed with chilled water, it transforms into a milky white liquid known as "Lion's Milk." This transformation, or *louche* effect, is a signature characteristic. Yeni Raki offers a bold, herbaceous character with prominent notes of anise and fennel, and is traditionally enjoyed with mezze (small appetizer plates) or fish.
