Zahel An Amphora Gemischter Satz Demeter 2023 is a distinctive natural wine from Vienna, sourced from 60-year-old vines and 13 different grape varieties in the Oberlaa area. This complexity is enhanced by the barren gravel soil, giving the wine extra depth and length.
It is made using spontaneous fermentation in handmade 320-liter clay amphorae, followed by 12 months of aging on the fine lees, lending it a unique character. This natural approach results in a hazy, intense golden yellow wine with stone fruit and floral aromas, complemented by hints of lemongrass. On the palate, expect smooth tannins and crisp acidity, culminating in a long, satisfying finish. This is a complex and authentic expression of Viennese winemaking tradition.
