PJ, a creator and experimenter, dreamed of building his own distillery in a wild, inspiring place rich in nature and history. He found it in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, by Lough Allen and the Iron Mountain. The distillery had to be authentic, with traditional copper pot and column stills for crafting premium Irish spirits. The Shed houses stills for whiskey, Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin, and Sausage Tree Vodka, all custom-made in Germany and brought to Drumshanbo, where PJ set out to make the ordinary extraordinary.
It takes a curious spirit to achieve remarkable results. PJ Rigney’s travels led him to Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, where his passion for oriental distilling traditions inspired The Shed Distillery. There, using medieval copper pot stills, he fused oriental and Irish botanicals, creating the extraordinary Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin — as unique as the fabled Drumshanbo Jackalope.
